The Kids Pack Program is designed to help elementary school children at risk of going hungry over the weekend. Sanpete Pantry volunteers put together and deliver bags of nutritious, kid-friendly foods to the elementary schools participating in the program. Every Friday the schools are able to give Kids Packs to students who may not be fortunate enough to enjoy regular meals over the weekend. The packs are light enough not to be a burden to students carrying them in their backpacks, averaging about 5-6 pounds each. One pack provides two days of food. The Sanpete Pantry distributes 112 bags per week and 450 per month.

The items (or equivalents) that are included are:

  • 2  Instant Oatmeal or Cold Cereal

  • 1  Pop Tart

  • 2  Milk or other Milk Product

  • 1  Juice

  • 2  Individual size Mac and Cheese, Raman noodles or Chef Boy-R-Dee Meals

  • 2  Fruit Cups

  • 1   Pudding Cups

  • 2  Granola Bars

  • 3  Fruit Snacks

  • 1 - 3 Crackers (depending on size)
